AboutThis two-day workshop is part of the ongoing AI4AI series, dedicated to advancing Agricultural Innovation through Artificial Intelligence. Building on insights from previous sessions, this workshop will explore key patterns and findings on the Genetic Improvement Program. Participants will engage directly with farmers to identify program implementation gaps to refine the implementation strategies. Additionally, the workshop will initialize a collaborative research work dedicated to developing an innovative digital platform that bridges the gap between agricultural science and field practices.

Abstract: The AI4AI Workshop: Artificial Intelligence for Pattern Recognition and Insights in Buffalo Artificial Insemination is a multidisciplinary initiative by the Computational Science Research Center and the Institute of Animal Science at UP Los Baños. This workshop aims to advance the application of AI and data science in optimizing and modernizing animal breeding processes. It will cover AI methodologies tailored for Genetic Improvement Programs (GIP) and foundational data science skills relevant to animal science. This initiative represents a significant step towards the innovation of genetic improvement practices through AI and data-driven approaches.

Summary of the Event:

The CSRC Strategic Planning and Workshop, held from March 5-7, 2024, at the Kabayan Beach Resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas, brought together key members of the CSRC Family, including the current director, previous director, administrative staff, and ICT staff. For three days, participants engaged in intensive collaboration and strategic discussions aimed at shaping the future direction of CSRC’s initiatives and infrastructure.
